Moving around in Vienna

Vienna has an efficient public transportation system.

You can easily purchase tickets at the ticket machines in Vienna or online.

The 72-h Vienna ticket (EURO 13.60) is an economic way of moving around in Vienna. If you arrive in Vienna in the afternoon of Wednesday, 1 Sept. 2010, this ticket will entitle you to travel around in Vienna until Saturday, 4 Sept. 2010 in the afternoon.

For those who plan to do some sightseeing while they are in Vienna, the Vienna Card (EURO 18.50) might be the right choice. It is also valid for 72 hours and entitles you to reduced rates when visiting museums, exhibitions, etc. You can buy the Vienna Card at the airport, in most hotels or order it online.

For general information on public transport and the different kinds of tickets please see Wiener Linien (button for English language is in the upper right corner).

For information on how to get to the conference venue see the section on How to get there.
